The gardens of Schloss Trauttmansdorff in Merano cover 12 hectares with a 100-meter difference in altitude. This offers spectacular views of over 80 garden landscapes, the surrounding mountain scenery, and the city of Merano. Along gently winding paths, visitors embark on a journey through four garden worlds with plants from around the globe, passing by sunny terraces and babbling brooks.
Ötzi, the Iceman
Archaeological sensation, media star, research subject, museum object:
Ötzi is a glacier mummy from the Copper Age, which has been preserved to this day thanks to extraordinary circumstances and gradually reveals true treasures of knowledge. In 1991, it was accidentally discovered by mountaineers on the Schnalstal Glacier, along with clothing and equipment, and has been extensively scientifically researched since.
