With a northwesterly upper-level flow and the passage of a cold front, polar air masses reach the Alps.
Northerly föhn will dry out the air. In the Vinschgau and the southern parts of the region, a few bright spells are also possible. In the late afternoon and evening, a few more showers will move in from the north. At the same time, with gusty northerly winds, the snow line will drop to around 1000 m.
A strengthening northerly wind will break up the clouds in some areas. Toward evening, a cold front and gusty northwesterly winds will bring another round of snow showers, with the snow line dropping to around 1000 m. There will be a sharp drop in temperatures in the mountains!

Throughout South Tyrol, the sun will shine from early to late and the sky is often cloudless. The north wind weakens as the day progresses.
Wednesday will continue to be quite sunny and cool. During the course of the day, high clouds will move through from the west far above the peaks. Thursday will bring lots of clouds and some rain in places. The snow line will be between 600 and 1000 m. Friday will be cloudy with Föhn. During the course of the day, precipitation may return from the east. The forecast for Saturday is still uncertain. Clouds are expected to predominate and there will be some snow in places, with rain at the lowest altitudes.
