A) The section of the trail that is just under 3 km long, starting from the starting point at Gasthof Innerhütt and extending into the valley (to the southeast), is suitable for beginners and for enjoyable skiing. It ends here after several wide loops. This section has no significant ascents or descents, with one exception in the final section with a short, easy descent and a subsequent short ascent. However, this last part can be easily avoided by either starting a new round at the road crossing or reaching the endpoint after a few meters. Total elevation difference in the ascent and corresponding descent: 25 meters on the nearly 3 km long route.
B) The section of the trail that is just over 2 km long, starting from the starting point at Gasthof Innerhütt and extending out of the valley (to the northwest), is suitable for experienced and enduring cross-country skiers. It includes several different medium-difficulty ascents of varying lengths, two short rapid descents, and a longer gliding section with moderate incline. Starting from the highest point, it is possible to take a shortcut to avoid the more difficult of the two rapid descents. Total elevation difference in the ascent and corresponding descent: 45 meters on the just over 2 km long route.
The trail is groomed daily for classic style and skating in a pleasant width. Shortly before Lazins and shortly after Lazins, pedestrians are on the move, and there is a hiking trail on the approach route (Zeppichl). The use of the trail is free of charge. The trail has several very easy, but also some moderate to difficult sections. On the way back to Pfelders or Zeppichl, there are several quite rapid descents, where one should be careful of pedestrians and oncoming cross-country skiers.
The ascent from Pfelders to the Lazinser Alm is quite strenuous due to the sometimes very long ascents, but in the wide basin of the Lazinser Alm, you can relatively easily do some additional rounds: per round 680 m and approx. 15 m ascent. A bit more strenuous is an additional round in Lazins: per round 1,336 m and 52 m ascent.
The cross-country ski trail Walten with a length of just under 3 km and the small difference in altitude is mainly suitable for beginners and children. However, this trail can also be attractive for advanced skiers who want to do some fast laps. The trail can be reached from Walten in a few minutes and from St. Leonhard in about 10 minutes (approx. 10 km). The use of the trail is free of charge.
